Perth College Junior School has a vibrant music programme and a rich tradition in the performing arts. All girls from K-6 receive weekly choral tuition and girls from Year 2 through to the end of Year 6 receive weekly tuition in either a band or orchestral instrument.
The Perth College Junior School Chamber Choir is a non-auditioned optional choir, comprising girls in Years 5 and 6. They rehearse once a week and perform from memory a delightful range of repertoire from a variety of traditional sacred music to some very creative arrangements from the contemporary and popular styles. The Perth College Junior School over many years has been able to foster an environment where girls’ music skills are nurtured carefully and where singing is a part of everyday life. Similar choirs from Perth College have enjoyed the privilege of singing Evensong at Westminster Abbey (2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017), York Minster (2013 and 2015) and Bristol Cathedral (2017).
